Personnel Security is the area of security that focuses on monitoring and managing employees' eligibility for security clearance. This involves assessing and verifying the background, qualifications, and trustworthiness of personnel who have access to sensitive or classified information. Effective personnel security ensures that only those who meet specific criteria and have undergone thorough vetting are granted the necessary clearances to perform their roles responsibly and securely.

In this context, background checks, psychological evaluations, and ongoing monitoring are vital components of personnel security. These practices help organizations mitigate risks associated with insider threats and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. The aim is to safeguard sensitive information and maintain the integrity of personnel who could impact security objectives.

The other areas mentioned, such as physical security, information security, and cybersecurity, address different aspects of protecting assets, facilities, and information systems but do not specifically pertain to monitoring employees' security clearances or their backgrounds.
